This
deluxe model comes with 10 feet of rg174 coax. I
make this new deluxe with a
ferrite bead installed at the antenna
feed point to eliminate rf feed-back through the coa

times smaller in size and weight than any others on ebay for sale and at
the same time my antennas are physically the same length and rated for
up to 60 Watts!

This antenna has a SWR of 1.5 or lower across the 2 meter band and works well on the 70cm band via 3rd harmnics also.
Now
to be honest I use what I believe to work the best for what this
antenna is designed to be all the way around. Small,Portable,Lightweight
and VERY VERY effective but RG-174 is a lossy coax by nature and on this model with 10 feet the loss is still
only about 1.0db at 145mhz. Trust me when I tell you that The 6db of
gain you get with this antenna over a typical 5/8 wave antenna more than makes up
for the 1db loss in the coax.
Here is why,

Slim Jim antenna is basically similar to a Jpole design, but it
exhibits a lower radiation angle in the range of 8-10 degrees on
the horizon, compared to 1/2 wave Jpole which exhibits a 20-30 degree
angle on the horizon. (ie. more gain)
Some have suggested these Slim Jim work better than a 5/8 wave antenna.
For example:

You still get to choose 1 between 3
different connectors for your antenna to fit your radio. They are pictured above with labels: SMA-Female/SMA-Male/BNC-Male.
Just hang the antenna at least 36 inches away from all obstacles with a fishing line or string (non-condutive) and start talking.
