Update- previous buyer had to cancel because of wife not agreeing to the purchase. Uh oh!
Since last post, I decided to have the bike serviced for the new owner!
Here is what was done by the infamous Bobby Weindorf (ducati expert formerly with Pro Italia and curator for Moto Talbott museum):
-Oil and filter change with
Motul300V and Ducati filter
-Replace cam belts
-Replace spark plugs
-Replace coolant
-Brake fluid change
-Air filter ok
-Test ride. It’s good to go!

Here are the details…
Beautiful Ducati 851
Barely ridden since I got it a few years ago.
Idled often and kept on battery tender.
New battery
Fires right up, idles great, drives, shifts, brakes, lights work… all good! Just went for a quick ride, love this bike but downsizing and this one needs a new home with someone to ride it more!
Only thing I notice is the rear brake light does not brighten when depressing the rear brake pedal. Probably an easy fix. The front brake lever does activate the brake light.
No mirrors on this bike.
Bike has usual nicks and scratches, but no dents or dings on tank. Note the bottom section of one fairing has a spot that is chipped/scratched. Zoom in on the pic. Not noticeable when fairing is on bike. Bike could use a good cleaning. I’ve always kept indoors.
Right fairing may be from another year, note that it has the “851” sticker unlike the left fairing. Both are OEM as you can see by the part numbers.

I’d prefer the buyer pick up in person but I’m happy to work with your transporter but please know that he/she is acting as your representative and therefore when he/she takes possession of the bike from my property, the transaction is complete. To summarize, if your transporter leaves here with the bike, it’s a done deal. As with most used bikes, there is no warranty or guarantee and this is an “as is” sale. Of course you or your representative can do a full walk around, start the bike, etc, and spend as much time here as needed before finalizing. I’ll happily show you some of my other bikes also!
